I had an E-machines like Matt's but it burned up. I like the fact
that it is expandable and has a mini PCMCIA slot and USB. I really want
one.

Let me seal the deal for you...

I opened it up, and here's what I saw:

1 64MB DIMM, PC100 CL3 (probably doesn't need to be CL3). I suspect you can

go to to 256MB with no problem here. I've got a bunch of RAM laying around,

so this is great.

1 64MB SanDisk CF Card. Easily removable and replacable with whatever you
want. But that's a hell of a lot when you consider what fits on a 50MB mini

CD distro.

1 Mini PCI slot, presumably for a modem or wireless card? I don't know what

you can find for that, don't know anything about it.

Geode CPU, no heat sink or fan. 32MB of surface mounted RAM. And the SIS
video chip. Those were the only obvious components of note.

I suspect you can run Windows 98 on this thing, but it's only a 233MHz chip
with MMX extensions. I would love an alternate OS that supports wireless,
but it looks like I'm probably going to be fighting with wlan-ng tonight.
