TW/RR shifted to a different connector around a year ago. Instead of
the simple metal connector that is hand placed onto the end of the cable
and was crimped -- the new one has a gasket built into the body. It
requires a different crimp tool that actually forces it onto the cable
and then crimps that gasketed body.
The do seem to provide better service -- especially in the outdoor boxes
and in the attics. No problems with moisture leakage deteriorating the
connections.
If those are the connectors you're talking about, you'll have to get
them from TW themselves. Or if you don't mind waiting a week or so, my
son is working for TW right now and I'm sure he won't mind parting with
a handful when he gets back from the trip he is currently away on. I
doubt he'll loan his crimp tool, but with the connectors -- you can
probably force them onto the cable by hand.

Hey,
The wonderful TW/RR contractor that came out cut off the ends of all
the coax runs in my premises wiring. Now I'm thinking about moving
it, and due to my graveyard-shift work schedule it's rather
inconvenient to have to wait for another contractor visit. What do I
need to put my own ends on coax cable? The TW/RR installed some
really nice-looking ones on the line I was using, and I'd like mine to
be high quality too.
