Tweeks' 10 minute review of "Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition":
(i.e. I just skimmed through it)

While there seems to be a lot of good foundational and historical info in this
book, much of it seems a bit dated (like 6 years old or more). While they do
touch on scp.. they also talk about rcp to the same importance. They talk
about rsh and rlogin, but barely even mention ssh expect in passing. They
touch on Usenet and Majrodomo.. but never even mention mailman.

Also, t appears to be a mile wide and only a couple inches deep. They need to
drill down into some of their subjects a bit more it seems.

It looks to have the makings of a good general Linux reference.. but before I
bought it in book form I would want to see it updated a bit. I would love to
see this book if it were turned into a WiKi form and left in the hands of the
community for a year or two. :)

Still, it does look like a good reference, especially for people just digging
into Linux from the Windows side who want a bit of history & reference
material (not for so much for casual home users).
