They are not an ATEX, so they do not carry component-level items. They
are not, in my opinion, another ALTEX (though I have warmed up to them a
little bit over the past year). AAI is strictly focused on PC-related
"components" and systems...
...hence my earlier query about what other Atex-like business there may
be that is still left in S.A. I mentioned AAI in the same breath
because, like Atex, it is fairly low profile - Altex just has always
seemed too flashy or something - like they have to lure people in using
something other than price or expertise ("follow the glitz" to the big
building and "find Altex"). The rumor I always heard was that the
father and son split up so the son could move Altex to where it is and
the father kept the component-level stuff and changed the name to Atex.
Anyway, I like AAI in the same way I always liked what is/was now Atex -
but nothing at AAI that is truly component-wise.
