1) ATEX is not gone. I spoke with the owner Jack Faour and he will continue to operate via an eBay store "Jax Electronics"
http://stores.ebay.com/Jax-Electronics . He indicated that for eBay purchases by folks in San Antonio, pickup arrangement can be
made verus shipping. Yeah I know Tweeks, It's not like having a brick and mortar store to go mill around in............

2) Just reacquainted myself today with long time San Antonio electronics place M-Tronics, 3201 West Avenue, 78213, 210-340-4069,
800-292-7328. I used to buy parts there in the eighties (SK, GTE line semiconductors mostly) but hadn't dropped by in years. It's a
funky, old place with a few counters of stuff out front to rummage around through and other parts behind the counter.

Always of interest to me, they seem to be a good source of fresh gel-cell batteries in various sizes with pricing far better than
ALTEX computer stores. Your standard 12 volt 7 amp hour battery (with the correct 1/4 lugs so common in UPSs) that go for 15-17
dollars each at ALTEX and other places; I got 16 of them for under $200 ($10.90 each, plus tax).

OK Tweeks, you've got a place to go now......
