[XCSSA] Help I'm under attack!

Recently switched from RR to AT&T DSL in the last month or so. Have been 
getting allot of DOS attacks. Discovered the log in the router. I've been 
smurfed and Ping of Deathed and probably others that I don't recognize. The 
router firewall has the settings it came with blocking incoming traffic from 
WAN side. Been turning on different security features of the router once I 
learn how to. Then testing to make sure I can surf and Email which is all I 
do. Got a NAS connected to the router also. Don't think my internal network 
has been breached but these attacks have me paranoid!! Can anyone recommend 
a begginers book on network/router settings?
