I'm curious if anybody on SATLUG or XCSSA has done, or has found, electrical
usage tests between different types of CPUs. For example, does a P3-500 use
more or less electricity than a P4 2.4Ghz, and vice versa? My question stems
from me wanting to use less electricity and move towards solar power. I have
a server (the P4) which is on constantly in my computer room. I also have a
P3-500 not in use which could be used in its place. The server only does a
few things like SSH, web, Torrent Flux, DVD burning, file server, XBMC
streaming to my Xbox, and a security webcam, so I'm sure the 500 could
handle it.

The other possibility would be to move everything over to a dedicated brick,
like the Linksys "slug", but I don't know if the processor could handle the
XBMC streaming protocol.

Thanks for any input.
