[XCSSA] Looking for Guidance, Experiences, Email Services

Anton,
I have to send mail to a list of 600+ about once a week. will GMail
handle that? What about using Gmail as a relay for my own server?
sorry for constant questions I have been running my own mail server for
a while but would not claim to be expert.
BTW looks like I can send through Gmail SMTP server now I have validated
domain without having to change my own MX record.
