I was actually thinking about doing an updated version of this for the 
OSFest.. But your call.. you all let me know.    I'm going to do a similar 
presentation at the local IEEE Computer Society meeting that Rackspace is 
hosting in October at (Rackspace HQ).

You guys have presentations at the Install Fests now?  
Do you mean the OSFest?

Heh..   I've never /fully/ taken the GPS plunge.. but was into doing 
this "Wife Tracker" project back at Texas A&M in the 90's.  I had a friend 
who used a serial GPS receiver coupled via RS-232 to a titanium GRiD laptop, 
which sent out PSK/packet coordinate data to his home receiver where he 
mapped his wife's minivan's coordinates throughout the day.  I guess that's 
the 90's version of what you propose.. :)  Cool little setup.
