Hey all!
We have a couple of presentations this month!

The Evolution of the Linux Desktop By: Tweeks
This presentation is a peek into a larger presentation that Tweeks is writing
on "The State of the Linux Desktop" for the local IEEE Computer Society in
October and the SAC OS Fest in November. Monday night's presentation will
start off by talking about traditional problems associated with running Linux
on the desktop, where the Linux Desktop is going, and then will dig into the
most common Windows/Linux equivalency applications.

Next up, and on a more technical note... the second presentation is:

Dynamic Firewall Daemon talk By: Travis H.
While we missed Travis last month, he's going to try and make it again for
August. Travis is planning to present on his Dynamic Firewall Daemon that
sets up (and optionally) maintains your packet filter firewall (e.g.
iptables) rules. In intrusion Detection lingo, DFD is what's called
an "R-box", or in other words, it can react to events, talk to your firewall,
and make firewall rule changes dynamically! Oh.. and did we mention that
Travis is the author of DFD and TBK (The Black Knight); the iptables flavor
of DFD? If you want some really in depth notes on how to soup up your
regular iptables firewall with DFD, this is a presentation that you won't
want to miss!

Cheers!

Tweeks
