I could give a talk on a couple of topics:
DFD (again) - what it has become, where it is going, the concept of
reactive network defense (and by that I mean blocking misbehaving
hosts, or isolating infected hosts, not automated hack-back)
Additionally, I'm looking for someone familiar with iptables and
willing to learn python (it's really easy) to take over dfd_tbk, which
is the Linux/iptables port (TBK =3D The Black Knight, a Monty Python
reference)
Security nuances - TCP/IP weaknesses, DNS spoofing and poisoning,
perimeter versus distributed defenses, IDS evasion, traffic analysis,
wifi vulnerabilities, polymorphic exploits, etc.
I might also be able to put something together on cryptology, time
permitting. Possible issues include screwups (WEP, skype, disk
crypto, PGP/GPG, SSL, SSH v1, naive RSA, the RSA e=3D3 problem, trillian
MITM, disk crypto watermark attacks), subliminal channels, typical
pseudo random number generator problems, protocol weaknesses,
unconditional (information-theoretic) security, quantum cryptography,
etc.
This may well be the last meeting before I leave SA, and I've been
really bad about physical attendance, so if you guys have me talk,
I won't be keeping anything back for future discussions.
