Shame on you Tom Weeks. (hee hee) I would expect you of all people to make more of an effort to steer business to the little
independent shops that are struggling to keep their heads above water. The last twenty UPS batteries I bought to refresh my bank of
UPS's came from M-Tronics on West Avenue, a San Antonio legacy TV-Electronics shop I've been frequenting since 1982.
These were the very common 12V7AH gel cells used in many small UPS's. At Altex these run $14-15 each, but at M-Tronics they had the
newer eight amp hour cells (exact same dimensions & terminal configuration as the 12V7AH ones) for ten dollars and change (& that's
the quantity "1" pricing). Don't expect all the computer & cable stuff at M-Tronics, it's an old school TV-Electronics shop with
limited floor inventory, but plenty of repair components on the shelves behind the counter. If you're a 'lectronics guy or you just
want the best deals on fresh gel cells drop buy and take a look; and buy something. If we don't support the local electronics shops
they will disappear...
