Hey all...
There's been a lot of recent list-chatter talk around the topics of solar
stuff and renewable energy. Of course these discussion can include X-otic
operating systems (for home power regulation, etc).. but I think the
subject deserves our group's attention, if for no other reason than as a
public service discussion and for general group edification on the
subject.

Timely "Solar Festival", This Saturday (19th):

I've been to this before.. it's a bit "granola & Birkenstock".. but kind
of cool too. :) There's some kind of homebrew ecar club that shows their
home brew ecar creations (I like this group!).. lots of solar panel
vendors (right next to the "Power Store" on Broadway), live "Green Band"
music, etc. I think even a couple of local car vendors come now to show
off their latest hybrids... (Saturn, Toyota, etc)
Here are some photos from last year's event:

Fun stuff..

So my Question for Monday's Night's Meeting (21st):

Q1) Is anyone (Charles?) interested in giving a "State of Renewable
Energy" presentation?

If so.. I can piggy back a couple topics regarding cost effectiveness
issues of PV (solar electric) technology, give a Hybrid/eCar technology
overview, etc... I may even be able to squeeze in some Linux related
info.. and show off a solar home brew laptop charger. :)

Charles seems to know a lot (first hand) about Windtricity and owns a
Hybrid (doesn't the Prius still run Linux on the in-dash computer Charles?
:)...

Q2) So.. Anyone else interested in this stuff?
Q3) Anyone else interested in presenting on or around this topic (with or
without X-otic system ties)?

If we all feel the need to include X-otic systems.. I can also give some
info about some of the home thermostat controller stuff that's out there
and how you can tie these in to Linux/perl and X10... (if the group really
wants to strive to keep the presentation "on theme" for our group). :)

Please post soon and/or flag me directly:
