Yes.  One fact: 50-100 times more of the sun's energy goes into  
making wind than into photosynthesis.  Most of that wind energy,  
however, is at higher altitudes.

A few people think that oil comes from geologic processes, not former  
life.  However, that's so far out it's mostly considered a "crank" view.

Yes, but not to worry.  We'd have a long way to go before it made a  
significant difference.  And it would have to change a lot before  
doing anything really bad.  BTW, there's already a lot of this  
"deceleration" going on,  more than we could practically do, and the  
deceleration is a predictable linear process.
