Incidentally, I used lyx to create that, with the beamer template.

Suggested packages on ubuntu for doing this:

lyx latex-beamer pdflatex

The hardest part was finding the right tools.  I'd imagine that a
preso like that would only take a few hours with the right tools and a
bit more practice, possibly an hour for every 7-12 slides.

I've been using tth for translation to HTML but don't like the output;
I can't view many mathematical symbols in the webpages.  Possibly
hevea will work better.
