Hey all..
Richard Davey gave a pretty sweet presentation "Intro to PGP/GPG Encryption"
in January... and here's what we were thinking about doing over the next two
months.
February: How to Use GPG for Encryption and Digital Signatures
This upcoming month we are thinking about getting a couple of local (and maybe
a remote) experts to talk about how to practically USE GPG encryption and
digital signatures. This will probably break down into a few centrally
useful topics:
-HOWTO on Individual file encryption in KDE & Gnome and bash
-HOWTO on Doing Digital Signatures
-Overview on Crypto filesystems
March: XCSSA/SATLUG GPG Keysigning Party
Having learned in February how to USE GPG signatures and encryption in your
every day life, we can now get together for an official keysigning party to
help build and extend the "web of trust" (more info here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_of_trust). Once you upload your key out to
the net and get your GPG key signed by the other attendees, you'll be all
ready to begin doing a great many things more securely.
Any questions, comments or related subjects you would like to see?
