I don't know why you're bitchin' Tweeks.
That stupid "self validation" signature on the back of a card just
provides an example for any jerk who finds or steals your card. I've
NEVER signed a single card. And the ONLY place that wouldn't accept it
without a signature was the US Post Office. The brain-dead lady behind
the counter told me I'd have to sign it before she'd take it. I asked
why, what was she then going to compare the signature to? The one on
the Registered Mail form to the one *I* just did on the card? While she
stood there and tried to puzzle it out, I picked up my packages and went
to UPS.
Personally, I appreciate it when someone asks for picture ID. It means
we're paying less for the products there because there is less
fraud/theft loss.
If you don't like showing your funny-looking drivers license picture,
get one of those cards with the RFID chip in it. That way, you can go
around broadcasting your credit card number -- but no ID required!
(Just like in all those RIDICULOUS Visa commercials)

Sorry for the off topic post.. But I don't know how many times now I've
been "required" to show a photo ID when using my CC.. but I'm really getting
sick of it. Your self validating signature (in person and on back of the
card) is all that is required legally by both Visa and Master Card*
Has anyone else had problems bucking this?
To have my civil liberty of self validation stolen by the state government and
local vendors is simply not something that I'm willing to give up...
