Permission? Why do you need stinkin' permission??? Follow Hopper's
Law! It's far easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

I really doubt Amiga or anyone else would come down on you for
displaying their logos. We're a user group, not a clone
manufacturer. For them, it's free advertising and support. I'd
think they'd be happy to see lots more user groups. If they ever
"find out", they might even send us some swag, if they could afford
it, which I doubt. Amiga is so invisible I can't see how they'd be
upset if discuss other computers, mostly. They need every group they
can get.

(Actually, some have made the same argument about actual copyright
violation. It works like free advertising. It generally doesn't
cost sales, and when people actually get rich enough to buy the real
product, they are happy to do so as fans. But I don't even have to
make that argument in this case.)

Now that might not be quite so true of linux and BSD, which are
highly visible anyway (particularly linux) and have also been the
source of endless high power legal wrangling. But still...

If you want some protection, use the standard disclaimer "trademarks
displayed for identification purposes only and remain the property of
their respective owners."

Of course, I'm not real lawyer.

Charles
