[XCSSA] Once again, cable vs DSL, and also Grande

I'll put in a good word for Grande. I've got the 12Mbps down/1Mbps up
service and it's spectacular. If there's any outage it's usually for
less than 30 minutes in the middle of the night if it's routine
maintenance. I think in the last 4 years it's only been down for any
other reason maybe twice. Their support is great if there ever is an
issue. I've also got my landline and TV through them for the bundle,
and I've always been happy with it. Even if you don't go with the TV,
the landline phone beats TWC's digital service any day. It's nice to
have service that still works when the power goes out!
Grande also gives a discount if you provide your own cable modem. I'm
running on my own Motorola connected to an IPCop firewall box, then to
my network (wired & wireless) from there. Grande has never had a
problem with it, in fact, the last tech that came out was somewhat
envious of my configuration.
Side note, has anyone had any luck flashing DD-WRT or similar to a
Linksys WRT54Gv6? I need to figure out a way to make the Linksys
accept a local 10.10.x.x IP, and with its default firmware it will
only do 192.168.1.x.
